This cherished, one-of-a-kind piece was beautifully displayed in a private collection but has never been used.
About the artist: Information from internet articles states that Polomeme studio in Clarinda, in south west Iowa, ran by potter J. Eldwin Sawhill, with his first wife Susan and second wife Marjorie who was skilled at the pottery wheel, went around the Midwest and demonstrated in schools, events, and fairs. The time period covered in various articles are from 1940 through 1965. All of the items were crafted from natural red Iowa clay. Several examples of pitchers, bowls, mugs and pots.
