My work is a marriage of form and imagery in ceramics. The imagery used in this work is solely generated from my own photography. This approach allows me to take part or parts of a photograph, remove extraneous information, and then compose onto the ceramic surface. Often the original photographs are snapshots, where only a background tree or leaf, flower, body part, or sign are selected. These are minor details from larger memories, slipped out of the periphery and made into an eternal composition. Other times, of my photographs are taken with intentionally creating a later composition. Always, the work seeks a particular and intimate interaction, one easily gained through the natural approachability of both the ceramic object, and the photographic image.
