Anagha Sheth
SHORT BIO
Anagha is a U.S.-based ceramic artist whose work celebrates the quiet joy of handmade form. Drawing on her background in design, she creates slab-built pottery inspired by contemporary aesthetics.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“I used to think that I loved to work with clay because of its willingness to be transformed, but now I love it even more after having the epiphany that clay has a mind of its own. Its exceptional force keeps me humble!
White stoneware is my go-to clay to hand build my pieces. I find beauty in asymmetrical shapes, imperfect forms, and irregular edges. My work employs playful contemporary patterns and reflects optimism to bring something special to everyday life.
My pieces are created with relatively thin slabs and are decorated with underglazes, with a clear glaze on top.
I am on a journey to explore my own potential and to support it, I surround myself with creative thinkers from all walks of life.”
