I am primarily an abstract artist. As such, my work reflects a wide range of experiences and emotions and each piece I make has a unique story of its own. Whether on canvas or in clay, the colors and images I choose stem from memories of my childhood and, thus, are often rendered in a childlike manner.

Clay is a natural medium of choice for me because I can touch it and investigate it and control it. There is little in my life that is mine alone. When I have shaped the clay it feels like me.

My creations are a form of personal release. They help me objectify the subjective worries and emotions that push and pull at me. I welcome them to my wheel or table, where I can finally become face to face with the vagaries and shadows that make me uncertain. My finished pieces allow me to look in the mirror and tell myself that I have conquered apparitions of fear and converted them into vessels of goodness and whimsy.
