For nearly 25 years I have lived in Japan exhibiting my ceramic art.
My works embrace the simplicity of function and extend into the creatively unique.
My inspiration is found within nature and the beauty of our mystery.
Not long ago, a spacey colored polka dot from the ash glaze of the wild cherry blossom tree was discovered on a black clay. A new series, ‘Polka Dot Skies’, began...
We are all dots connecting the universe.
PROFILE
1967 Born in Lawrence, Kansas
1987-90 Assistant to Ban Kajitani. Monumental sculpture, wall murals.
1990 B.F.A., CCAD(Columbus College of Art & Design). Sculpture, Glassblowing.
Awarded an Artist Visa by The Foreign Ministry of Japan.
Studied traditional Japanese pottery under Ichizo Mori, Mie Prefecture Japan.
1991-92 Assistant to contemporary ceramic artist Koji Usaka, Tochigi Prefecture Japan.
1992 Built kiln & studio, Motegi City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
1993-97 YUSEI-SHA staff, member of GEOIDWORK. Stage Art Design, Performance, Ceramics.
