Bio:
Jade Lewis is a ceramic artist from small town, Indian Lake, Ohio. She received a BFA in Ceramics and a BA in Classical Civilizations from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She is currently a resident artist at the Iowa Ceramics Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also works part-time at Akar Gallery in Iowa City. Jade creates wheel thrown and sculptural ceramic work influenced by artifacts so far removed from current reality. Her work highlights a connection between the figure, human behavior, and how they change through time.
