Lilly Powell, MISSOURI
Bio: Lilly Powell (She/They) was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. She received her BFA from Kent State University in Kent, OH, and completed Post Baccalaureate studies at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. After completing two years as an Artist in Residence at Belger Arts in Kansas City, Missouri, Powell now works as their Studio Technician and as a Ceramics Instructor.
Statement: Powell loves using contrast when designing forms; pairing crisp silhouettes with a pinched texture, and leaving areas of raw clay next to a glossy surface. Her pots are handbuilt, often utilizing press molds.
