ARTIST STATEMENT/ BIO

Marc Digeros uses his strong devotion to craft and hand-made techniques to create one-of-a-kind, hand-built functional pottery influenced by architecture and modern design. He employes self-made geometric drop-molds constructed from MDF and plywood along with paper patterns to create unique forms in clay. He seeks a delicate balance of planning and happenstance in the finished product, often leaving marks from the process as clues to how his pieces are constructed.

Marc has worked a full-time job as the model shop manager for Gehry Partners architecture since 2000 and has taught ceramics at various schools part-time, in the Los Angeles area. Before he moved to LA, he spent 2 years as a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation and received the first ever Taunt Fellowship while in residency. He holds an MFA from the University of Washington and a BFA from the University of Minnesota.
