ARTIST BIO

I explore. I create. I learn. I embrace being a storyteller, botanist, biologist, a Buddhist, chemist and alchemist, dancer, dreamer, lover, a friend, informer, and guide on my quest to create that one important cup or sculpture at the ripe and wonderful age of 85.

I look back, as a Japanese potter describes the first firing of a new kiln- Hidari-uma, to my old work as I dream of new work riding on my spirit horse into the future.

I have three broad areas of interest in ceramic sculpture.

The spirit connection between me and animals, particularly horses; the use of drawing and color on sculpture; and, my love of boats, which suggest adventure, quests and the passage of my life.
