My work is both functional and decorative, bringing together my love of pottery form and a passion for pattern and color. The work elicits conversation between painting, ethnographic material, fabric design and nature. My pots are hand built of red earthenware with underglaze and glaze.

Nancy Gardner has been working in the Chicago area as a studio potter for 30 years. She is originally from Philadelphia where she attended Tyler School of Art as an undergraduate. She completed her MFA at Illinois State University Carbondale, taught in Ohio for several years, then moved to Chicago where she has been since.
