When I make yunomis, I think about:
-tactile sensations of dry and wet glazed surfaces on fingers
-tight rim and foot rings etching lines across a softly undulating form
-the way the cup fits into the palm of your hand, its weight and balance
-painterly slip marks crossed by glaze lines like windows streaked with a spring
rain. I want a yunomi to read like my native Kentucky landscape, its dark clay
dappled similarly to how the Appalachian mountains reflect light on a hazy
spring day.
