ARTIST BIO

Rachelle Miller is a ceramics artist and instructor based in Madison, WI. Currently, she teaches ceramics at Madison College and exhibits her work in galleries, museums, and art fairs across the Midwest. Miller's pieces, made using hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques, are both functional and sculptural.



ARTIST STATEMENT

I blend traditional craftsmanship with innovative surface treatments, reflecting my deep admiration for Mid-Century art. Using both hand-building and wheel-throwing methods, I create forms that are not only functional but also sculptural. My choice of bold colors and geometric patterns pays homage to the vibrant aesthetic of the Mid-Century movement, while the incorporation of printmaking techniques allows me to experiment with layering textures and designs. This combination results in pieces that are visually striking and invite closer inspection.
